The Department of Elementary Education seeks applicants for four (4) tenure-track positions at the Assistant Professor level, with a starting date of August 2001. Primary responsibilities will include supervision of student teachers in public schools and supervision of students in other field-based contexts. Teaching undergraduate and / or graduate students in one or more of the following areas may be included - social studies methods, creativity, classroom management, human development, and self and group processes. All faculty are required to advise undergraduate and graduate students, conduct and publish research, and perform University and community service. Minimum qualifications include a doctorate in an appropriate field (ABD with a clear plan for completion may be considered) and a minimum of 3 years successful K-8 teaching experience. Working with diverse populations, evidence of scholarly activity, and experience in supervising preservice teachers are preferred. Finalists must successfully complete an onsite interview and teaching demonstration.
